This month, the Surface Design Show 2023 was back, an event that we were excited to be exhibiting at again after the success of the 2022 show for the business.
Yet again the show offered Marabese Ceramics' Specifications Team the chance to put on show exactly what we are all about as a business. The main objective was to engage with as many designers and architects as possible over the three days.
The team had handpicked material that they knew would catch the attention of any wandering design eye, from small format bricks made in Spain to the large Venetian terrazzo from leading Italian manufacturers.

Did you visit us at the Business Design Centre in London this month? We were exhibiting at the famous Surface Design Show 2022 - the UK’s leading event for architects and designers to explore the best in surface material innovation!
At the show, over 150 exhibiting companies come from all over the world to display the widest range of surface materials and designs, and architects and interior designers gathered for inspiration and unique content.
Our roomset inspired space conveyed our family run business values, using furniture to display a large amount of small format tiles.

This project's brief was to create a seamless living space whilst maximising natural lighting, keeping the surroundings bright and airy. The areas of renovation started with the main entrance, which carried through to various bathrooms, all following the same theme. The colour scheme was chosen around different beiges across a blend of wood and stone/concrete effect tiles.
To achieve the unbroken view in the larger floor areas, we went with Porcelanosa’s Bottega Caliza tile. With its beige concrete effect in a natural finish, it offered exactly what the client was hoping for in terms of style, and the large 120 x 120cm format, in turn, meant fewer grout lines.

Richard Hayes joined us at Marabese in November 2019. In this blog entry, he will be sharing one of his Specification Projects based in Bedfordshire featuring the Delice Gris tile:
Aiming to set up and move forward the Projects Department of Marabese's business has brought with it some interesting and enjoyable challenges. Introducing a new specification supplier into a vastly competitive marketplace was not going to be easy; creating a strong brand and reliable reputation was the key. Tapping into my years of experience was vital to getting the results we all wanted as a business.
This project was to transform a living space into a warm and welcoming environment, using mellow grey and taupe colours.
