Specification Project: Bottega & Liston Oxford Tiles
This project's brief was to create a seamless living space whilst maximising natural lighting, keeping the surroundings bright and airy. The areas of renovation started with the main entrance, which carried through to various bathrooms, all following the same theme. The colour scheme was chosen around different beiges across a blend of wood and stone/concrete effect tiles.

To achieve the unbroken view in the larger floor areas, we went with Porcelanosa’s Bottega Caliza tile. With its beige concrete effect in a natural finish, it offered exactly what the client was hoping for in terms of style, and the large 120 x 120cm format, in turn, meant fewer grout lines.
Due to the product’s rectified edge, we were able to use a narrower grout joint then enhance the floor’s natural look by colour-matching the grout. The overall effect meant the tiles and grout would blend together, creating a seamless finish where natural light was able to flood in.
Again, aiming to provide a smooth transition, the Bottega Caliza tile is followed through to the bathroom floors, but this time, in the smaller 60 x 60cm format. The porcelain tile is perfect for the floors, whereas the 45 x 120cm ceramic alternative is the wall option (seen behind the shower enclosure below).
Matching the wall and floor tile provides a cohesive design where the beige concrete texture continues and creeps up the wall. Adding the wood effect tile though, is a winning combination, creating a contrasting backdrop to make a feature of the bath or shower area.
The Liston Oxford Cognac tile is manufactured in a 31.6 x 90cm format, although, in reality, each tile looks like several narrow planks laid separately. The result is so realistic and hard to believe that it's ceramic rather than genuine timber!
Adding a feature wall in Liston Oxford created a Scandinavian spa like environment in which the customer could relax in after a long day. Using the same tile combination across the whole project brings a feeling of harmony and calmness which travels throughout the house.
