Marabese Bathroom Design & Installation: Bromham, Bedford
Designer: Barbara Babb
Marabese Showroom: Bedford
A ton of bricks!
One brick, two bricks, three bricks… This stunning bathroom renovation has been created brick by brick for our happy clients in Bromham. The charming design by Barbara Babb (from our Bedford Marabese showroom) was fitted by DJ Moore Plumbing, also based in Bedford.
Let's take a closer look...
Using brick-shaped tiles is an inspired way to hint to a vintage look without making the decor seem outdated. The humble brick-shaped tile was made popular by the bevelled edge metro tile, first used in the first New York subway station in 1904 and it has been used ever since, simply refusing to go out of fashion!
In this bathroom, we decided on Porcelanosa’s Calpe Seagreen 7.5 x 30cm elongated brick-shaped tiles. Their gloss surface has a high degree of light reflection, designed to imitate the calm waves of the sea which is perfect for this tranquil space.
The choice of shaded floor tile is in keeping with the calming feel; ‘My Space Rice 20 x 120cm’ by NovaBell has a grey hue which altogether complements the Calpe wall tiles.
Sanitaryware was selected to have a diversity of shape and texture. The PJH Moods Cilantro toilet and Kansas offset bath by Qualitex follow a circular theme where edges and corners have been rounded off. In contrast, we have a Deuco rectangular basin housed within a dark graphite unit, setting it apart from the rest of the white sanitaryware.
In the corner opposite the toilet is the Ascent Premier shower enclosure by Qualitex. Its design is practically frameless, and it uses a low-profile tray which helps to keep the bathroom looking spacious, despite its large luxurious size!
Modular bathroom furniture by Deuco provides ample storage, keeping the bathroom aesthetically pleasing as well as functional and practical. The basin vanity unit is paired with a tall wall-mounted cabinet, both in the same matt graphite finish, providing gentle colour variation but keeping in sync with the rest of the room.
