Light, airy & clean lines

 

Light and airy is the name of the game for this charming kitchen in Leighton Buzzard. The bright and cheerful creamy theme is set by the oyster coloured Nova units by Crown Lifestyle. The high gloss cabinets are also available with curved doors should you like to soften the corners, but in this case, we have gone for the uniform look of clean, straight lines.

The Bushboard’s Vanilla Quartz Gloss worktop features a glossy finish with the luxurious sparkle of pearlescence. Apart from looking stunning, it boasts a wealth of qualities including being anti-bacterial, dry heat and scratch resistant, it’s hygienic and easy to clean and is also mould resistant. Basically, all you would look for in a worktop and it comes with matching upstands which frame the worktop beautifully.

The Liso Light Grey brick-shaped wall tiles are pale in colour with a finish that gleams and shimmers – they’re the perfect choice to complement the radiant worktop below. The flat-surface tiles have been laid in a stack bond pattern, where the straight lines are distinct and grout lines join together to form a grid.

The floor is not solid wood, or wood effect tiles, but a convincing imitation wood vinyl by Karndean. The Natural Scandi Pine vinyl, taken from Karndean’s Knight Tile collection, features a combination of tight distinctive grains alongside other neutral planks to give a characteristic and genuine look. The intricate grain and knot details portray the beauty of natural wood perfectly.

Unlike real wood, Karndean has a non-porous surface; it’s easy to clean and super hygienic as bacteria is unable to seep through and take hold. Karndean vinyl is a durable flooring, suitable for a busy family home and compatible for use with underfloor heating.

The vinyl has been laid to resemble planks which were installed lengthways, emphasising the "long and thin" look. The planks are following the same direction as the natural light source; the smaller end joints are highlighted, rather than the length joints achieving an overall spacious feel.

On the worktop is a sleek induction hob by Neff. Induction hobs rely on magnetic energy. They work by heating the pan directly rather than the hob, saving on energy and cooking time – perfect if you’re one who’s impatient to wait for meals! It has touch sensitive controls rather than traditional knobs, so the finished product has a streamline look which is extremely easy to clean.

Also by Neff, is the built-in stainless steel oven. It has a CircoTherm system to achieve the desired temperature quicker and more evenly than in a conventional oven. The Slide&Hide retractable door means there is better access to the oven and a reduced risk of burning oneself. The Neff microwave oven is installed above the regular oven and the integrated fridge freezer is hidden behind doors to give a seamless look.
